Scrapheap

This piece explores ideas of pressure, constraint and yielding, by way of my local scrap metal yard at Dundalk. It is a fascinating spot, both surreal, scary and magical all at once. I tried to capture these emotions through the use of a warm colour palette and repetitive marks to convey the relentless pressure needed to transform these once used cars into masses of densely packed metal, ready to be made into something new.
