Free machine stitched poem by Simon Armitage on apron. Attached via threads is a thread painted heart with velvet appliqué. Under the apron the threads, which represent life-blood, touch a pair of hand-made "seed boots". These are made from repurposed paper embedded with wildflower seeds native to Ireland. The piece deals with life, death and (re)birth via the earth element. The poem is about somebody writing their will, referring to parts of their body. The shoes can be filled with soil and wildflowers could grow from them.
